Love Letters: V
At first this was written because it was part of homework, to write a love letter to self. It sounded so ridiculous at the time. I struggled to find thoughts or words to write to you. Why was it so hard to write something, why was it so hard to love you? I put off the letter many times. Then this morning it hit me, God’s love. It was so clear to me, the beauty and miracles that were all around, all of it was God’s love. You are part of that. A part of God, Universe, Divine. You were divinely and beautifully created. A love letter to self is God’s love spreading in you and thru you, and you share that with the world daily by being just you. By being the light for yourself and others. You are a Divine being, a precious child of Universe, created out of pure love. You are love. You are loved. And I love you. I love how much you love being a mommy. I love how much Xavier means to you, and how much you love him. You’re a great mother. I love how you try to be the best you can be for him and yourself. I love how honest you are, how kind you are. I love how much compassion you hold for others even more then you hold for yourself at times. I love how much you can love others without anything in return. Remember as a child, you would have your mother take you to feed the homeless lady down the street. You had unconditional love towards this stranger you didn’t know. And when she passed years later and you read it in the paper your heart broke and you cried for the loss of your friend. I love how much family means to you, even when family isn’t always perfect. I love how full of life you are and how you shine out to the world. I love how there’s never a dull moment. I love how passionate and creative you are. I love that you took painting up as a way to create and heal in the process. I love that your silly, and dorky and don’t care what others think of you. I love that your child like side has a crazy obsession for all things Disney. I love that you know what you want and aren’t afraid to go for it. I love that you dance anywhere and you’re not afraid of who’s watching. I love when you sing to your hearts content because it’s a form of healing for yourself. I love that you have learned to relax and take time for yourself. I love how you aren’t afraid to be alone. I love that you allow yourself to be happy, to be sad, to be angry, and to let it all soak in and feel the rawness of life. To be aware that you’re human. Sometimes you let out some hateful words, but then quickly your awareness brings you back to love. You are beginning to be more conscious of your thoughts and words, and learning to be a bright light everywhere you go. I love that no matter the adversity life handed you, you didn’t give up. Your heart was shattered but you kept your faith and allowed yourself patience and time to put back all the pieces together. I love that you can still look at the people who have broken pieces of your heart and still have compassion and love for them as God has for you. I love that you still believe in true love and continue to believe in happily ever after, knowing that it is coming soon. I love that you have finally accepted to love your curly hair, your curvy hips and all of your perfect imperfections. I love your strength . I love your courage. Your learning to be gentle with self, learning to be healthy and be the truest you. And most of all I love that your learning to love you more and more each day.
Self love is as important as loving others. You are a diamond and as such, you are unique and priceless. Sometimes you have to uncover your diamond. A task well worth the work!
